Levee Day 2020

  • The Black Watch 2067 Rue de Bleury Montréal, QC, H3A 2K2 Canada (map)

New Years’ Levee-  is a long-standing tradition in British and European courts.  Historically Levee was that time of the day when royalty first welcomed members of the court for an audience, early in the morning.  In modern times and in capital cities, such as Toronto, the regiments and invited guests visit the Governor General's or the Lieutenant-Governor's residence at specified times during the first day of January or shortly thereafter.  In Montreal the levee is conducted between military units, as well, as a number of curling clubs.
